The SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) is designed to survive in even the most challenging situations. We understand that parties and events can be unpredictable, so we have designed the SOUNDBOKS to be ready for most situations.
The SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) cabinet is made from poplar plywood, coated in a thin layer of plastic. The poplar plywood cabinet provides a strong casing to house all the electronics of the SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3). The cabinet is housed in powder-coated aluminum angles on all edges with silicon ball corners. The silicone rubber material used absorbs impact, reducing the strain on the cabinet of the SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3).
The construct of the SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) allows it to handle rain, snow, sand, and spilled beer on the surface. The internal and external components of the SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) can also handle temperatures from -10 to +40 °C (+14 to +104 °F), allowing you to use your SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) in most climates. While the SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) may be able to handle a spilled drink, we DO NOT recommend partially or fully submerging your SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) in liquid. All electronic components inside of the SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) are coated to comply with an IP65 rating, however, because of the build of the bass reflex port in the SOUNDBOKS, the actual product cannot receive an IP rating since there are holes in it and dust and water can technically enter the product.
While all critical parts of the SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) are stainless steel, aluminum, or plastic, having your SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) in very humid or salty environments for extended periods of time can lead to cosmetic damage. We recommend wiping down your SOUNDBOKS with water and a rag after being in sandy or salty environments.
