The New SOUNDBOKS is designed to survive in even the most challenging situations. We understand that parties and events can be unpredictable, so we have designed the SOUNDBOKS to be ready for most situations.
The New SOUNDBOKS cabinet is made from poplar plywood, coated in a thin layer of plastic. The poplar plywood cabinet provides a strong casing to house all the electronics of the New SOUNDBOKS. The cabinet is housed in powder-coated aluminum angles on all edges with silicon ball corners. The silicone rubber material used absorbs impact, reducing the strain on the cabinet of the New SOUNDBOKS.
The construct of the New SOUNDBOKS allows it to handle rain, snow, sand, and spilled beer on the surface. The internal and external components of the New SOUNDBOKS can also handle temperatures from -10 to +40 °C (+14 to +104 °F), allowing you to use your New SOUNDBOKS in most climates. While the New SOUNDBOKS may be able to handle a spilled drink, we DO NOT recommend partially or fully submerging your New SOUNDBOKS in liquid. All electronic components inside of the New SOUNDBOKS are coated to comply with an IP65 rating, however, because of the build of the bass reflex port in the SOUNDBOKS, the actual product cannot receive an IP rating since there are holes in it and dust and water can technically enter the product.
While all critical parts of the New SOUNDBOKS are stainless steel, aluminum, or plastic, having your New SOUNDBOKS in very humid or salty environments for extended periods of time can lead to cosmetic damage. We recommend wiping down your SOUNDBOKS with water and a rag after being in sandy or salty environments.
