The FXPad in the SOUNDBOKS app puts real-time light show performance right in your hands. It features a simple, four-button interface designed for live use: press and hold a button to trigger an effect, and release it to instantly turn it off.
If you are using TeamUp to link multiple Lightboks together, any effect you trigger on the FXPad will automatically sync and broadcast across your entire setup simultaneously for maximum impact.
The 4 Live Effects
Strobe: A high-intensity, bright white strobe running at a rapid 25 frames per second. This is the exact same high-energy effect triggered automatically during a "Rave" level power event.
BlackOut: Instantly cuts all light from the Lightboks. Perfect for killing the lights right before a massive musical drop to build tension on the dance floor.
Chase: A single LED traces a perimeter path circling the center. It dynamically alternates between your currently active color palette and your designated effect color.
Sparkle: A colorful remix of the strobe effect. It utilizes your chosen effect color, keeping the LEDs illuminated for slightly longer intervals to create a bright, sparkling look.
Response Time & Latency
Because the FXPad is designed for live performance, it operates on ultra-low latency. You can typically expect a response time of about 100 milliseconds from the moment you tap your screen to the moment the light reacts. On older phone models, this latency may occasionally reach up to 300 milliseconds.
Pro-Tip: Taking Full Control Over "Power Events"
When your Lightboks is set to the Dance or Rave Energy Levels, its internal animation engine actively listens to the beat of your music to anticipate drops and trigger automatic "Power Events."
How they interact: If you press an FXPad button exactly when an automatic Power Event hits, your manual effect will temporarily override and replace it. Because of this, the effect might continue running for a brief moment after you let go of the button until the music's natural power event finishes.
Want 100% manual control? If you want the lights to react only when your finger is physically touching the screen, simply go into the app under Energy Level and switch the Power Event Duration to 'Off'.
